We are now receiving applications for an upcoming 4-weeks residency in Spring 2023 dedicated to contemporary circus artists based in the Nordic-Baltic region.
Professional contemporary circus artists and companies, based in the Nordic-Baltic region (excluding Denmark) are welcome to apply. We encourage applications from artists/companies who plan to premiere their performance within a year from the residency.
The residency does not have a set thematic, and it is therefore open to artists working in any discipline and with any artistic thematic across contemporary circus.
Through the residency programme, DYNAMO aims to support the circus environment to its fullest extent by also providing artists with the opportunity to do unrestricted creative work and contribute to the development of contemporary circus in the Nordic-Baltic region and Europe.
What we offer
Space: As a group/artist in residency at DYNAMO you are provided with your own workspace in our Studio – approx, 60m2. You get access to basic circus rigging equipment, crash mats and such. (Our max height for rigging in ceiling is 6 meters.) Basic lights and sound. Access to a backstage area, for meeting, rest, or showers.
Artistic & admin/production sparring: Upon agreement and according to your needs, we can arrange for and cover costs for artistic and creative sparring – for example with a dramaturg, scenographer, choreographer, or for non-artistic sparring – for example a builder, welder, carpenter, etc.
Economy: For this residency, we provide a 950 EUR production fee (per company) and cover travel costs to and from Denmark (up to 670 EUR per company). We also provide accommodation – private room in a shared apartment during your residency (limits may apply for big companies), as well as bikes for local transit. You can see pictures of the apartment here.
Documentation & PR: We offer PR through our digital media and print programme; the work in progress showing will be shot by our photographer.
